About the speaker:
Catherine Z. Elgin is Professor of the Philosophy of Education at Harvard Graduate School of Education. She is an epistemologist who focuses on the nature and scope of understanding. Her research spans the philosophy of science, the philosophy of art, and the philosophy of education. She is the author of True Enough, Considered Judgment, Between the Absolute and the Arbitrary, With Reference to Reference, and co-author with Nelson Goodman of Reconceptions in Philosophy and Other Arts and Sciences. Her latest book, Epistemic Ecology will be published by MIT Press in 2024.
