Between September 4th and October 11th, 2024, Bojan Spaić, ALF coordinator, academic member and visiting Professor at Bocconi University delivered a comprehensive series of lectures on Legal Argumentation at the Bocconi University in Milan, Italy. These lectures were part of the course “Legal Argumentation and Economic Analysis of Law,” led by Professor Giovanni Tuzet.
During a total of 38 hours, Spaić explored the theoretical and practical dimensions of legal reasoning. The lectures addressed topics such as the logic underlying legal reasoning, interpretative arguments and doctrines, evidential reasoning, and the practices of courts. His teaching offered students valuable insights into the interplay between legal theory and judicial practice, encouraging critical reflection on the foundations of legal decision-making.
Spaić’s contributions at Bocconi University highlight his dedication to fostering academic dialogue and advancing the study of legal philosophy in an international context.
Bojan Spaić also delivered a seminar on the topic “The Death of the Legal Author: What Can Artificial Minds Teach Us About Intention in Law organised by prof. Damiano Canale within the series “Dimensions of Intentionality in the Law.” Within the seminar, Spaić presented research done with ALF postdoc Julieta Rabanos, regarding the role and neccesity of pressuposing intention in the creation and interpretation of law. The paper on the topic will be published in the journal Law and Philosophy.
