From February 18–20, the ALF Workshop took place at the Surrey Centre for Law and Philosophy, bringing together researchers and scholars from ALF partner institutions – the University of Surrey, the University of Genoa, and the ALF coordinating institution – the University of Belgrade. The first day was dedicated to a PhD session, where doctoral candidates presented parts of their theses and received valuable feedback from peers and professors. ALF young researchers Sava Vojnović and Ana Zdravković, doctoral candidates from the Faculty of Law University of Belgrade, participated in the session. Sava Vojnović presented on the topic “No Room for Value Claims”, while Ana Zdravković discussed “Human Rights Restrictions in the ECHR”.

The second day of the workshop opened with a presentation by Prof. Miodrag Jovanović, ALF Coordinator, on “Prototype Theory of Concepts and Analytical Account of Law”. This was followed by Prof. Ambrose Lee (University of Surrey), who spoke on “Obligations’ Bindingness”.

The final day of the conference began with a talk by Prof. Veronica Rodriguez-Blanco (University of Surrey) on “What the ‘Common Good’ Is Not: The Architectonic of Good and Practical Reason in Law”. Prof. Andrej Kristan (University of Genoa) then discussed “Legal Reasoning and the Efficacy of Legal Norms”. The event concluded with an engaging presentation on “Generative AI and Philosophy of Law” by Prof. Bojan Spaić, ALF Coordinator from the University of Belgrade.

The workshop provided a dynamic forum for critical discussions, academic exchange, and constructive feedback, further enhancing collaboration among ALF partner institutions in the field of legal philosophy led by the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law.
