ALF co-coordinator Bojan Spaić participated in the Conference on Constitutional Adjudication and Political Representation organized by professor Luís Pereira Coutinho of the Lisbon Institute for Legal and Political Science. The conference gathered prominent and up and coming constitutional scholars and legal philosophers discussing the legitimacy of constitutional courts, constitutional justices as representatives, the concept of representation, and political influences on constitutional review. Spaić presented a paper on the topic “Can Political Representation Legitimately Determine Constitutional Adjudication?”

With the conference coming to an end, Spaic participated in the Lisbon Legal Theory Group Seminar. Francesco Ferraro from the University of Milan presented on the topic of The Symbolic Functions of Law.

Members of the Lisbon ALF team meet with Spaic to discuss the upcoming ALF Philosophy of Law Week in Belgrade, plans for the academic parts of the project, both in formal and informal settings.
